Baby and Kids Size Guide by Age (0–6 Years)

Toddler in natural linen clothes

Age is a good starting point, but babies and kids grow at their own pace. Use height first, then weight, then age. We use the same size names most Canadian stores use, so the size you already buy will fit the same way here.

Baby (newborn to 24 months)

Size Height (cm) Weight (kg)
NB (newborn) 46–55 2.7–4
3M 55–61 4–5.7
6M 61–69 5.7–7.5
9M 69–72 7.5–9.3
12M 72–76 9.3–11.1
18M 76–81 11.1–12.5
24M 81–86 12.5–13.6

Toddler and kids (2 to 6 years)

Size Height (cm) Weight (kg)
2T 88–93 13.2–14.1
3T 93–98 14.1–15
4T 99–105 15.4–17
5T 105–112 17–19
6 114–121 20–22

The number in a baby size is the age it ends at: 3M fits from newborn up to about 3 months, 6M from about 3 to 6 months, and so on.

How to measure

  • Babies: lay them flat and measure from the top of the head to the heel, with legs gently straightened.
  • Toddlers and kids: stand them against a wall without shoes and measure to the top of the head.

Between sizes?

Size up. Our cuts are roomy on purpose, so a piece lasts longer. Linen and cotton relax a little with wear, and we pre-wash our fabric to keep shrinkage small.

Buying a gift?

For a newborn gift, 3M or 6M is a safe choice; many babies outgrow NB within weeks. For a first birthday, choose 12M or 18M.
