Our Story
Chiku Chums makes soft, simple clothes for babies and little kids, from newborn to 6 years, in natural fibres that feel good against new skin.
Why natural fibres
Babies spend all day in their clothes: sleeping, feeding, crawling and climbing. We wanted pieces that breathe, wash well and get softer with time, so we work with three fibres:
- Cotton mul (muslin) and cotton jersey for newborns and everyday basics. Light, airy and gentle.
- Linen for warm days and busy toddlers. Cool, strong and better with every wash.
- Cashmere for a warm layer through Canadian winters.
Every piece is 100% natural fibre, or at least 95%, with only a little stretch where it's needed.
Made in small batches
We make our clothes in small batches rather than huge runs. It means fewer pieces sitting in warehouses, more care in each one, and the freedom to try new colours and prints as we go.
Hand block printing
Some of our pieces are printed by hand with carved wooden blocks, one press at a time. No two are exactly alike, and we think that's the point. You can request a block print on many of our pieces.
Designed for real family life
- Envelope necks and snaps for quick, gentle changes.
- Roomy cuts that leave space to grow, so pieces last longer.
- Sizes in centimetres and kilograms, so you can find the right fit. See our size guide.
